Leadership Transition and Role Updates

Hi Team,

I’m writing to announce that my time as a Project Lead is coming to a close. It has been a pleasure serving for the last year and a half as we got this project off the ground, and I want to thank you all for your support. With the project now well-established, we are ready to begin our planned leadership rotations.

Please join me in officially welcoming @ednolan, who will be stepping into the Project Lead role. I’m excited to see the new perspectives he will bring. Going forward, Project Lead positions are designed as three-year terms, with one person rotating in and out each year. This system will ensure we have fresh ideas while providing ample opportunity for those who would like to serve.

Separately, we are making a couple of adjustments to our role titles to simplify our structure and address feedback we’ve received:

  • The roles previously known as “Leads” will now be called “Project Leads.”

  • The positions formerly referred to as “Czars” will now be designated as “Leads” of their respective areas (e.g., “Style Lead”). This change addresses concerns raised about the “czar” terminology and streamlines our titles.

Finally, we are excited to announce that Darius Neatu will be taking on the new role of Communications Lead. Darius will be responsible for managing our social media presence and website content. All public-facing communications will be subject to approval from the Project Leads.

For clarity, here is the updated list of our leadership team:

Thank you all again for your partnership over the past year and a half. I look forward to continuing to work with everyone in my capacity as Meeting Lead.

Best,

David
